STEAM IN ECUADOR
Postponed till 2012

Wings and Rails regrets the withdrawal of this tour for 2011. However recent news and reports show that repairs and restoration of steam locomotives have fallen far behind the schedule that Ecuadorian Railroad Company (EFE) has published and promoted. NO STEAM LOCOMOTIVE CHARTERS WILL BE AVAILABLE till 2012. Our company will revisit the situation later in 2011 and confirm that progress is being made to offer this tour for 2012. Very limited rebuilding of the route from Riobamba to Alausi had been understaken. Most work has been concentrated in the North near Quito and out of Duran. There continues to be major washouts and regular train service has not returned to the mid section of the railroad including the Devils Nose.

Wings and Rails will be keeping abreast of developments. Be assurred that we will present a realistic tour program that will only have what is possible to operate not speculation on what might be ready!!!!!

Price per person in double basis US- Prices will be announced.
